Dr Andrew Mayers is an academic psychologist specialising in mental health, particularly perinatal mental illness and young people's mental health. He helps with raising awareness for mental health, and challenge stigma and discrimination. He is the current (interim) chair of the Dorset Mental Health Alliance, Patron for the Samaritans of Bournemouth & District and Chair of Trustees for ActsFast, a charity based in Dorset, that supports the non-abusive family (and victims) of children who have been sensually abused. He also is Governor for Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust (the mental health and community health NHS trust for Dorset).
